practices
There are many areas in what is broadly called “the social sector” that are rife with problems and in sore need of innovation. Disruptive innovation can help. These theories, which have been tested over the last 20 years across the for-profit, non-profit, and governmental sectors, reveal the causal forces at work that make innovation so difficult, and, conversely, how they can make successful innovation predictable. These theories outline counter-intuitive steps to introduce disruptive innovations, which transform complicated, expensive, and inaccessible services and products into affordable, simple, and accessible ones.
Innosight Institute currently has two Practices where it works on applying these theories to introduce innovation to improve society: education and healthcare. In these Practices, the Institute
- Researches how the theories apply and offer a path for improvement
- Promotes the recommendations
- Helps to apply the theories to induce positive change and learn more
Over the coming years, the Institute will expand its thinking to additional fields with the launch of new Practices.
