about

Innosight Institute is a non-profit think tank whose mission is to apply Harvard Business School Professor Clayton Christensen’s theories of disruptive innovation to develop and promote solutions to the most vexing problems in the social sector.

The co-founders of the Institute, Michael Horn and Dr. Jason Hwang, joined Professor Christensen after graduating from Harvard Business School in June of 2006 to co-author two books, one on U.S. K-12 public education and the other on U.S. healthcare, respectively. After working on the books for nearly a year, in May of 2007 the three founded Innosight Institute to house the work on both education and healthcare — and to continue the development and promotion of these ideas.

The books apply Professor Christensen’s theories of disruptive innovation to education and healthcare, respectively, to suggest ways to make fundamental improvement in both fields. McGraw-Hill will publish both books in 2008. The first, Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns, will be available in late May. The second, The Innovator’s Prescription: A Disruptive Solution to the Healthcare Crisis will be available in late August.
